acidburnface said: You're basically saying that women should be afraid of men dude. You know that right? To say a women needs to 'not put herself in those situations and protect herself by doing so' is saying that IF she gets in that situation, she is at the mercy of men who will ravage her because THEY have no control over themselves if she is drunk, passed out, or dresses provocatively. Your argument reeks of perpetuating rape culture, patriarchy, and misogyny.

No to clear…rational non emotionally invest women. It’s a punch in the gut at first, but once you get past the intial gut check and actually read and understand what’s being said. It all boils down to being smarter and more aware.

Men do need to be taught not to rape just as much as women need to be taught how to not become a victim. Sorry it’s not rose colored and disney-esqu, but neither is life.

Women shouldn’t parade around like sex object either, if you want to be seen as more than meat. Show something other than the underside of your tits and ass.

The real problem is that you have no clue if this is a man or a woman and you’re assuming it’s male derived drivel. If a woman were to say this, it’d carry some weight.

Finally, as far as rape culture. your votes brought this to be. Not your hanging chads style voting. We’re talking about the votes you make everyday. The things you watch, clothes you buy ect. Women have bought into this machine of look like this, behave like this, wear this….. Shit they read magazines designed to make them feel like shit about themselves. So they emulate, they wear tighter clothing, skimpier dresses ect. Then it gets passed down to another generation of girls. You want someone to blame for this rape culture….if you are a woman. Look in the mirror….look at your mothers, aunts and such who helped pave the way for this to become reality.

As far as men, the fastest way to cut out that meat macho bullshit…. STOP FALLING FOR IT. Stop looking for the douchiest guy in the club! Teach them (as I am with my son) to respect women as equals no matter what. Start demanding better role models for both boys and girls.

Victim blaming is the reason I lose faith in humanity. But posting these things on twitter, you’re makin women less likely to come forward and report what happened

Victim blaming needs to take place in SOME cases. Women and Girls don’t use good judgement always. FACT. The man is a deplorable human being for committing rape, but the female who didn’t take smarter precautions is just as much to blame.

Mind you, the cases meant are not random wrong place wrong time situations. No we’re talking about the girls who dress slutty, act slutty and then get wasted at the bar. You gals, are asking for it. You’re not walking in to a quilting bee…..your walking straight into the lions den and expecting to not come out ass food? WAKE THE FUCK UP!

Just reblogging this again to direct everyone to the MORON that wrote this comment…No one is asking for rape. Maybe men should keep themselves under control and not act like a savage. Wake the fuck up yourself and please fall off a cliff.

So why not ask what exact situations we are speaking of….as we are multiple people not just one. Women in most cases are totally NOT at fault, but the cases that make the news and put rape in the spotlight aren’t cut and dry poor little angels.

Take Stuebenville* 16, drunk off her ass and in a party surrounded by jocks….a breed of men who know nothing but testosterone and aggressive behavior. Explain to us what sounded like a good idea about that situation.

Also, look at the culture of bars, it’s a fuck party plan and simple. Clubs, Bars ect. People only really go there to hookup for a night of drunken debauchery. You also have a structure for social interaction built of the male being the aggressor. Sure it’s  2013 and women can ask a man out, buy him a drink and what have you, but those aren’t the women getting raped….why? Because they aren’t taking chances. They are in control.

For the most part, it’s slimey guys sliding up trying to talk to you….the agressor….hunting his prey for the night. You can’t claim foul when your own ignorance got you there.

Don’t dress like whore
Don’t go out alone
Don’t take free drinks (or if you do, go to the bar with him and take your drink from the bartender directly)
Always keep an hand/eye on your drink. Never leave it sit out of sight.
Don’t flirt for drinks
Take defense classes

Basically be smarter about your night out, or it could be lights out

I think I vomited  Did you just blame a young girl for BEING DRUGGED AND RAPED?! Done…so done right now.

We blamed her for making a bad decision that led to her rape, see there in lies the problem. Nobody ever looks backwards…just forward when it comes to rape….it’s the only crime we do this with. Every other crime we scrutinize all angles in order to determine what led up to the crime taking place….except in the case of rape.

She shouldn’t have been there. FACT. 16 and drunk is a very dangerous thing to be. So, instead of being sickened or done like every other militant wannabe feminist when the topic of rape comes up. Try looking at it like this.

We need to stop nofaulting the victims in certain cases and use them as a THIS COULD HAPPEN TO YOU….like we do with everything else. Learn from it, teach your sisters, nieces and daughters to stop being party girls looking for the next chance to get drugged up or drunk and try teaching them to be responsible respectable young women.

By the way, you did completely ignore two points….1 we said in SOME cases and 2 we never absolved the men of their blame and behavior  They did wrong, but it wasn’t JUST their fault. 75% - 25% is about right in our heads. Oh, and that 25% can be eradicated if we start pushing the common sense angle in women young and old.

We also see a lot of bad decisions in your home state as it’s where we are based too. Michigan’s bar scene is sickening at times. It’s a wonder more violence doesn’t happen.
